Flow Yoga

Flow yoga, also known as Vinyasa yoga, is a multi-level strength based practice beginning with an easy warm up, sun salutations, and a series of poses including balances and inversions, designed to work the body to the core, helping to loosen the joints, and get the blood flowing. The Sanskrit roots Nyasa means "to place" and vi means "in a special way." Each practice is unique and classes are designed for the dedicated student who is ready to take a greater responsibility for their own limitations and personal challenges. These classes will be practiced with music.

Yin yoga is deeply retorative. You hold the asanas for long durations, focusing in on your connective tissues. A great complement to other more vigorous forms of yoga, such as Bikram. Hot Yin is done in the hot room, for even deeper stretching.

Qigong

Qigong focuses on your alignment, your breath and your awareness. Popular in China, this practice is about meditation, healing and exercise. You balance and cultivate your connection to yourself and to life force energy flow.

Pre-natal Yoga

This class is designed for women who are pregnant.  Please inform the instructor how far along you are, and if you know of any specific restrictions.  The class will be warm, not hot, and the focus will be on gentle opening of the hips, spine and shoulders, as well as a deep connection to breath and relaxation.  Practicing yoga while pregnant is completely safe and as always, postures can be modified or skipped completely depending how each woman feels.  Come with an open heart, and reap the benefits for you and your baby!

Remedial Yoga

The purpose of remedial yoga therapy classes is to address the whole body-mind-spirit system as the vehicle in which we navigate our life experience, and equip you with the tools and awareness you need to tap into the boundless potential of your embodiment.  The class components are pranayama (breathing exercises), asana (steady yoga poses), postural awareness and structural reintegration techniques, and relaxation.  Each student is given hands-on adjustments and assistance in their individual and ever-evolving practice.

This class is a heart offering to all who are drawn to this dynamic path of holistic healing; fostering strong, vital bodies, mastering our minds, and achieving the unique spiritual objectives that animate our being in this world.
